About New Zealand

New Zealand (NZ) is an island country situated in the south-western Pacific Ocean. The country has two landmasses and several smaller islands. The landscape here offers the perfect backdrop to do adventurous activities like bungee jumping, rafting, and skydiving. The volcanoes, high mountains, lakes, and beaches present, adds the thrill of living.

Besides the above, New Zealand has become an attractive destination for Indian students. The quality of education and the qualifications offered are recognized worldwide. The education system is centrally-managed by the government that requires all New Zealand education institutions registered with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

The government finances eight universities, sixteen Technology, and Polytechnic institutions and around five hundred fifty Private Training Establishments (PTEs) including English language schools.

NZ’s education institution offers:

  • High Degree-level education

  • Vocational degrees

  • Certificate and diploma level programs

There is a limited number of scholarships offered for UG courses by NZ institutes in the range of NZ $2000 to 2500. For masters and doctorate degrees, scholarship offered is NZD$ 6000 to 13,000 annually.

  • Many top NZ universities ask for a first-class or high second class degree for opting to postgraduate programs. For undergraduate-level courses, a score of 70 % or higher is required. Private independent colleges have no mark eligibility and accept any degree. In some cases, colleges ask for work experience to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.
